Frontier's Controlled Substances Policy
Prior to intake into the DPC or Urgent Care services for Frontier, please be advised:
Due to the nation's current state of substance use disorder and consideration for federal/state regulations, Frontier's prescribing of opiates and benzodiazepines (and other controlled substances) is limited to acute issues only and on a case-by-case basis. It is at the sole discretion of the provider, as we are not a pain management clinic or psychiatrist office, it is a very rare event that these medications are prescribed.
If you take these medications on a regular basis, it is vital that you discuss this with the provider prior to signing up for Direct Primary Care or long-term services so that our goals are better aligned.
